Hello, I'm Cynde Sadler, one of two native
language English teachers in Espoo. This is my sixteenth year
teaching in Espoo and I really love this job, mostly because it
regularly offers so many new challenges and requires a lot of
spontaneity and creativity. Never a dull moment! I really enjoy
watching the children achieve something new and sharing their
excitement.
I have lessons in all five
districts of Espoo with an average of 8 kids per group. Since I have
children from many different English speaking cultural backgrounds,
I try to teach vocabulary and celebrate all American, British,
Canadian and other holidays when I can and know about them, and try
to fit in any others the students may come up with. I feel it's very
important for the children to experience each other's culture
together as well as routine reading and writing.
I also love to play games at
the end of the lessons so we can all let our hair down a bit and
enjoy each other, after the 'hard work'.
Hopefully, from time to time, on this site you will find many of the
websites we use in class. They are often interactive and the
children love using them. Some are just for fun but others are
usually reading, writing and spelling related games.
